The second stage is known as T2. The cancer tumors at this stage have enlarged and localized in the prostate area. Detection of the tumors at this stage is made with the application of an ultra sound or digital rectal exam.

This is the onset of the metastasizing of the cancer cells beyond the prostate. The seminal vesicles are the parts that are easily affected.

The fourth stage is the T4 stage. At this stage, the spread of the cancer cells extends to surrounding tissues and organs near the prostate.

The fifth stage of the disease is that stage in which the cancer cells have spread to distant tissue and organs. The stage can either be the Nt or the MT stage. If the spread of the tumor affects pelvic lymph nodes then it is referred to as Nt stage. Mt stage is when the bones lymph nodes and other distant organs are affected.
